Cinnamon Apple Spice Hot Toddy
I’m proud of my stubborn immune system and rarely get sick (knock on wood) but even I succumbed to the flu this season. Like many people, I want hot liquids when I fall under the weather but there’s only so much bland tea and soup a person can take. I’m particularly fond of hot toddies, a soothing mixture of lemon juice, honey, hot water and just enough brandy or Bourbon to warm the chest area. I found a hot toddy recipe using Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea and I swear it got me through a couple of nights where I thought I was going to cough up a lung. It tastes like apple pie and the cinnamon creates a nice warming sensation for the throat. I skipped the Bourbon since I was taking cold medication but you can add it if you wish (if you’re taking medication, be sure to check with your doctor first). Even if you’re not sick, this is still a delicious drink to practice a little Hygge, the Danish concept of getting cozy.

1 tablespoon honey, agave or maple syrup
